When we first met a couple of years ago, we realised we had much more in common than the same first name. As well as our love of cycling, we both have a genuine interest in how we can use technology to make our buildings more efficient and effective.
The smart building industry is still relatively immature, but it’s growing and changing very quickly. There are constantly new topics, regulations and opinions to navigate, and there’s still a lot of work to be done when it comes to educating the market and providing customers with real value.
The purpose of Michael Squared is to provide a place where people can get real insight into real life applications building technology.

Michael Grant is an operations, strategy and management professional with over 20 years’ experience in the technology sector. His role involves helping clients to make their buildings more efficient, productive and sustainable, by implementing Metrikus’ market-leading building efficiency software and data platform.
An engineer by trade, Michael is committed to making the technical aspects of smart buildings easy to understand, and he is an outspoken advocate of driving building efficiency. He is also the host of The Measure Podcast and the author of Straight Talking PropTech – a popular LinkedIn newsletter.
